Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Committee
The committee was established during the summer of 2019 to do an assessment to address potential ADA non-compliance issues in regards to town buildings and recreation areas with public access. Through a grant received by the CDC. Cummington started the initial work in regards to ADA compliance. The Institute for Human Centered Designs (IHCD) came in January 2019 and assessed each town building and Pettengill Park. Their final reports were received in August 2019. The next step is to apply for an action grant to make modifications in identified area. Policies, practices and procedures for all town departments is also to be worked on.
